Matthew Blong is an art advisor and the founder of Charting Transcendence, Inc.  A polymath, polyglot and Renaissance man, Matthew coalesces art knowledge into actionable advice for those who love, create and collect art. 

Blong has transformed his decades of experience working in international affairs and with global multinational corporations into a catalyst for discovering and contextualizing artists who make work that matters. He earned his Master’s in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York City, where he was selected to give the commencement speech for his graduating class. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor’s in Linguistics from Yale University and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Management at Arizona State University.  These varied perspectives bolster Matthew’s ability to create personalized moments of transcendence and awe when delivering art and art experiences for his clients.

Prior to his time at Sotheby's Institute in New York, Matthew trained his formidable connoisseur's aesthetic while working as a photographer, blending broad knowledge of global history, affairs, and business with a penchant for connecting disparate cultural frameworks. This international perspective lends him a distinct advantage, ensuring that his clients benefit from categorical art historical foundations in realizing their vision and connecting with artwork on the cutting edge of contemporary creativity.

Based in Miami, Blong frequents New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and many other art-spectating locales countrywide and globally, bringing his clients' interests to bear at every museum and VIP fair excursion he attends.
